Très Bonne Année Masters’ Tasting to Feature Highest Rated Australian Reds
The 2018 Très Bonne Année Masters’ Tasting will be a dream come true for lovers of Australia’s Shiraz-based bold reds. We have secured top bottlings from the country’s greatest producers for this exclusive event. Top billing goes to Penfolds Grange, one of the world’s most celebrated wines. On its 50th birthday in 2001, Grange was listed as a South Australian heritage icon. Several vintages have achieved 100-point status in recent years. Equally prestigious but somewhat less known outside of Australia is Henschke Hill of Grace. The first vines on the Hill of Grace vineyard were planted in 1860; the wine was first crafted in 1958 from Shiraz vines up to 100 years old. The exceptional quality of the wine combined with the charm of the name captured the imagination of consumers. Recent vintages of both of these wines retail for upwards of $500 a bottle.
Others in the tasting include Penfolds RWT Shiraz, a single-region Barossa Valley Shiraz matured only in French oak; Two Hands Ares; Mollydooker Velvet Glove; and Torbreck Run Rig. Each of these is a top-end Shiraz bottling from its prestigious maker, and all have three-digit price tags. Several additional high-end bottlings will round out the field, creating a fabulous once-in-a-lifetime tasting experience!
The Masters’ Tasting will be held on Friday, October 12, 6:30 PM at Hilton Harrisburg. Admission is $250 per person, and reservations can be made through the website at tresbonneannee.org.
